Project brief

BUILT Carpentry Inc. is a carpentry and renovation company serving Sarnia-Lambton and Chatham-Kent. Their work covers a lot of ground: kitchens, flooring, window and door installs, patios, fencing, large renovations, and outbuildings like garages. Whatever the job, the standard is the same. The work is premium, and sustainability is part of how they build.

They’d built a strong reputation on their workmanship, but they’d never had a real brand. They came to me for their first one.

The challenge

For a homeowner, hiring a contractor is a big decision. It’s their home, it’s often a big investment, and they usually form an opinion long before the first quote. They notice the truck parked down the street, the business card on the fridge, the ad they scrolled past. If those things look rushed or generic, it’s hard to believe the work won’t be either.

BUILT’s work was premium, so the brand had to signal that from the very first glance. It also had to work just as hard on a vehicle wrap seen from across a parking lot as on a business card or a social post.

And it had to say something about how they build. Sustainability matters to BUILT, and the brand needed to reflect that care for natural materials without losing the strong, professional feel that people look for when they’re trusting someone with their home.

The solution

The logo brings together the two things BUILT cares about most: the homes they work on and the natural materials they work with. A simple house shape joins with a pine tree to form one strong icon. It says carpentry at a glance, and it quietly reflects the care for materials and sustainability that’s part of how they build.

I kept the design clean and modern on purpose. A premium business needs a mark that looks steady and well made, not busy or trendy, and a simple icon holds up everywhere it needs to go. It reads clearly on the side of a truck from across a parking lot, and it’s just as sharp on a business card.

From there, I carried the brand into the places homeowners actually meet BUILT. The vehicle wrap turns every trip to a job site into a moving sign. Business cards, ad designs and social media templates give the business a consistent, professional presence before anyone asks for a quote. The brand guidelines tie it all together, showing how to use the logo, colours and type so everything stays consistent as the business grows.

Value delivered

In about 4 weeks, BUILT went from having no real brand to a complete identity that finally matches the quality of their work.

Now the first impression lines up with the craftsmanship. Whether a homeowner spots the truck at a neighbour’s house, picks up a business card or sees an ad online, they see the same confident, professional company. With the guidelines and templates in place, BUILT can keep showing up that way across Sarnia-Lambton and Chatham-Kent, without starting from scratch every time.

Right from the start everything was explained thoroughly target timelines were set. From there everything moved smoothly and well within the timeline that was set out. I was impressed with the attention to detail and your willingness to explain answers to any questions I had.
